Social networking is all about communicating through paging and texting. Other than voice talk over we use a media to communicate with others. The oldest form of communication through social media involves an SMS ,MMS service in cell phones , mailing and chat rooms in computers. For a better explanation we should move on with even more elaborated way.

Imagine your smartphone and tablet without internet. The evolution of internet improved social networking a lot. With the introduction of World Wide Web it changed the face of communication to a great extent. The web services had brought a lot more changes in the evolution of communication.

Web services have initially brought mailing services and chat rooms for desktops which made the communication lot easier. Slowly with the evolution, chat services are turned down to messenger service. With the entry of Social media websites people went crazy about using them that provide fun and communication as well.

Now with evolution there are lot more media services like Gmail, Hotmail, Youtube, Orkut, Facebook, Twitter and many others.

Web services dramatically evolved from desktop to mobiles as well, so now our generation can access to social media through our smart phones as well. It all started with mailing and texting which involves only words, but now with the evolution we can transfer pictures, videos, text, files and many more. It is all about evolution, from the times where we need to pay an amount for talking to a phase of calling through social media.

Due to the evolution of technology, mode of communication has changed from time to time with response to technological enhancement. This evolution helped our generations to improve our productivity, saved alot of time and even enhanced effective communication.

Evolution of computers

Can we imagine our life without a computer? It’s hard to imagine right!! Computers made our lives easier and colorful. So many changes made from the first generation computers which are about a size of room to laptop computers which can fit in our hand.

In present days computers become a part of our lives due to the changes in technology. Interesting thing is that due to the changes in technology computers are becoming smarter in terms of performance, features and capacity. Just compare your old desktop computer which is in bigger size with low speed processor and your new laptop with lot of inbuilt features and high capacity.

Compared to the old computers, the evolution has brought about a humongous change in the technology and portability. Even in this evolution of computers, the scientist are even more advanced. They have developed a super computer which can process 20,000 trillion calculations per second. Its fastness is due to its multiprocessing capability. Super computer named as Titan evolved as a world’s super natural brain behind the communication and calculation. Even it helps scientists to travel through the space to define the mysteries of space.

With the evolution of computers the storage methods has also evolved eventually, rock carving from stone age to floppy, disc, pen drive to cloud storage which is not a material form. From Stone Age the capacity, storage and processing time has increased rapidly.

In past decades, computers are heavy and not so easily accessible to everyone. With the evolution of technology it is so easy that even the kid from school can access the computer in these days. It’s not about generations it’s about evolution and growth of technology. Communication through this medium shifted from table to lap and from lap to the fingertips. 

We have discussed the evolution of computers till now, this evolution has turned a humongous change in the face of social communication. Social media turned to be the craziest communication media in this generation which developed due to the current evolution of technology. We will discuss that in our next blog.

Android phones are mainly coming from Samsung, which is more vibrant and colorful. Android have got lots of free applications that can make your life easier and full of fun. Androids open source code helped many start up firms and new generation techies to come forward and explore their ideas to bring up new ideas that can change lives. Android phone is really an interesting device for youngsters and especially for fun loving students.

Windows phones are just the mobile phone representation of the normal windows operating system that is used in their computers. It provides all the basic applications, which is required for a Smartphone, but while comparing to iOS and android windows phones are not up to the mark. In the next phase we will take you for a ride through the interesting world of computers which describes more about the evolution of technology.

As the blog progress I would like to discuss with you regarding the modern era of mobile phones. From the last two decades mobile phones has become a necessity for normal human lifestyle. In the previous blog we discussed the entry of mobile phones in the normal human life, now I would like to write few things about how mobile phones have changed in its shape and technology in the recent past.

Color display mobile phones started to conquer the market from one and half decade. People were really interested in buying the color screen phones, they were excited about the new thing in the market, and most of the color display phones were using multimedia technology. Multimedia phones were capable enough to play videos, music and few other games too. Soon after multimedia phones came up with a new idea of digital or VGA cameras attached to mobile phones. When people got to use cameras that are attached to their mobile phones changed their life. The uses of mobile cameras have influenced the media and news industry in a positive way. After multimedia phones came up with a whole new idea of mobile phones that can be also used to browse web, this new idea created rave in the world of technology.

Later we saw the entry of Smartphone that made a normal mans life easier. From students to working professional every one started using Smartphone that made them feel that the world is in their fingertips, and actually it is. Smartphone started a new era in the world of communication, it created a whole new world for its users. In the beginning Smartphone was really an expensive gadget to own, however now it has become much cheaper in price and common necessity for most of the individuals.

Mobile Communication

By introducing telephones, the invention has lead to mobile phone also called as cell phone. When mobile phone introduced, the cost of the phone was very high. Every common man can’t able to buy a mobile phone. As I mentioned in the previous blog the sculpturing techniques are still in use through mobile phone. Guess?

The picture message which we are sending to a person is a kind of sculpturing. Before it was drawn through hand, however in mobile pictures are preinstalled.

 

This is the first mobile phone that was used. Many people will think this is cordless telephone. Actually this was the first mobile phone used in the older days. The start for the mobile phone was in bigger size. Then days past the mobile phones are become smaller to smallest. In another picture below will show how the mobile phones sizes are reducing. The features of the mobile phone were increasing like display, keypads, and size.

A radio signal is important transmitted features used in mobile phone. For transmitting the signals, mobile towers build by different providers. To connect worldwide, satellites build to transfer the signals.

At the present time, every person in the world holding a mobile phone. It has become a part of our life.

Telephone communication

In the previous blogs, the evolution of communication was started to develop from sculpturing to radio signals. Just think for a while that, if we are still continue to use sculpturing techniques. Most people do not understand what that mean to say. But still these techniques are used in the current century not by drawing in the rock. Instead of rock, a new invention of telecommunication is telephones and mobile phones. The previous communication methods are the first steps to make changes in the communication. In early days, our grandfather used to say that, in their days they send messages through trunk call, letters etc. Trunk calls are made only within the country.  Telephone and mobile phones are the new evolution.

Telephones made easy to contact a person from one place to another. What made the invention of telephones? If you compare with previous methods that are used for communication is only through writing. Telephone is the first instrument used to conduct a conversation between two people.

The transfer for innovation doesn’t end. From the normal wired telephone equipment changed to wireless equipment. The pictures will demonstrate the changes that are made in telephones. When the telephone was introduced, many people used to share their number to their friends and families will be the first preference when they met.

If you see the improvements in telephone, firstly it has started in the metropolitan cities by laying wires underground around the cities. Then later through junction boxes to connect other cities. Likewise it passed over to country to country. Moreover, through telephone inventors added few more facilities like fax, caller id, led, and different kinds of ringing sounds.

In the evolution of communication technology post card is the one of the major turning point. The post cards are used widely to convey message in most effective forms. There are other kinds of posts like telegraphs with short sentences like “Emergency start immediately” and many others. The messages are mostly in the form of abbreviations. Telegraph is the long distance transmission of textual or symbolic messages without the physical exchange of an object bearing the message. It requires both the sender and receiver should know how to encode the message.

 After the evolution of radio signals the next generation of communication has started, where the messages are send through various frequencies .The messages here are not alone personal, they also communicated mass messages to the public. It has taken many years for this technology and it is still in use in many sectors like defense services, entertainment and few other. These radio signals are just audible in olden days. With the help of other devices and technologies these signals are transmitted to many different ways. Using of radio signals and wave frequencies are stepping-stones for many technologies which are present today like mobile phones.

 

 

With the increased technology in radio frequencies and invention of transmitters there are very huge changes in the communication technology. Initially using transmitters the messages are transferred only in the form of text for example Pagers.These pagers are still used in medical field by doctors, in information technology by system support engineers and few others.

How do we get your things done from the time we wake up in the morning to the time we go to bed? 

It’s only through communications. It may be with signs, language, text or any other. In today’s world we have got many communication methods and devices to convey messages and to share our ideas. Communication systems have evolved a lot through the decades. Think of a situation where we don’t have a mobile or a computer to communicate.            

Let’s go the rock age..

Sculpturing, this might be the first way the transfer of message and storing data is done on a rock. The pictures are carved on rocks. Past Africans, Asians, use other kind of communications like smoke and drums for danger or victory signs. As the civilization improved it’s changed to Pictogram, ideogram that explain a concept or an object. Later the writing skills, languages helped human a lot to communicate in better way. With the evolution of script, paper and pen it has became easier for human to read and write. Transfer of messages after invention of script on paper is more likely to our postal department but in a different way, like there are some people who used to transfer messages traveling long distances by means of horse, bullocks etc.

In the mean time, there is one other interesting communication done that is domesticated pigeon, which are trained to transfer messages for long distances.

On the other side optical signals, flying flags and observing them through telescopes also transferred message.
